I ran into Joshua, who might be able to help me get a chip made! He's been through chip design, and is a EE at heart. I laid out what I wanted to do, answering questions along the way... and there were no obvious huge stumbling blocks with what I want to do.
It's not dead yet! 8)

Found your site. Good to talk to you on the train this morning. I'm not sure how much my interest is worth :), but I will try to spread the word to some EE friends and see what they think and if they have any suggestions on manufacturing options.
