As I stated over at Herb Sutter's blog entry about concurrency, I think the future of computing will include the bitgrid, in some form. The Von Neuman architecture has its definite efficiencies, but the fact that a given RAM cell just sits there waiting almost 100% of the time, seems to me to be the ultimate in waste.
I look forward to the future, its going to be a wild ride getting there.
Wherein Mike Warot describes a novel approach to computing which follows George Gilders call to waste transistors.
